About the species:
The Long-billed Hermit is a beautiful large hummingbird that can be found in humid areas with lots of trees and flowers. It likes to stay in shady areas of the forest and around the edges, particularly where there are patches of Heliconia flowers. Male hermits spend a lot of time sitting on branches and singing. They pump their tails up and down while doing this. When they're feeding, they hover for a short time with long white tails pointing upwards before flying away with a high-pitched noise. This hummingbird has a striped face, a very long curved beak, and plain-looking feathers.
